Prevent content theft

To safeguard your store’s images, text, and other content, you can enable Content Theft Protection in the Securify app. This prevents visitors from copying, downloading, or misusing your store’s content.

When to Use Content Theft Protection

You may want to enable these features if:

  • You want to protect your product photos from unauthorized downloads.
  • You want to stop competitors from copying your product descriptions or blog content.
  • You want to prevent visitors from saving or redistributing your store’s creative assets.


Steps to Enable Content Theft Protection


  1. Log in to your Shopify Admin

Go to your Shopify Admin dashboard.

  1. Open the App

Navigate to Apps → Securify – Block IP & Country.

  1. Go to Settings

From the app’s top navigation, click Settings.

  1. Scroll to Protect your content

Locate the section with protection options.

  1. Enable Protections

Use the toggles to turn on the features you want:

    • Disable Right Click in your store – prevents right-click saving or copying.
    • Disable Shortcuts (cut, copy, paste) in your store – stops visitors from selecting and copying text.
    • Disable Text selection in your store – blocks common methods of saving product images.
    • Disable Inspect Elements shortcut (F12) in your store – Prevent's visitors from opening Developer Tools
  1. Click Save settings button

Changes are saved automatically and applied instantly to your storefront.


What Happens Next?

  • Visitors will no longer be able to copy text or download images directly from your site.
  • Right-click actions will be disabled across your storefront.
  • Your creative content will have an added layer of protection.

Does this completely stop content theft?

It prevents common methods (copy, save, right-click), but determined users may still find advanced workarounds (e.g., screenshots).

Can I enable only some protections?

Yes. Each toggle is independent — you can enable only the protections you need.

Will this affect SEO or search engines?

No. Search engines can still crawl your site as usual. This only affects manual visitor interactions.
